Singing with their hearts

Hartlepool Ladies Choir Borough Hall, September 11:

When they sang they sang with their voices,

With their bodies, their hands and hearts.

They also added a touch of romance,

And smiling eyes played a very large part.

What joins all of these forces together;

How do they combine and respond?

Is it a commitment that’s common to all,

Or just a mysterious feminine bond?

The feelings they generated were stimulating,

And the audience responded with glee;

Enjoying the ambiance of the evening,

And voices in complete harmony.

The songs they sang were people’s songs,

With a meaning and message to all.

They opened the hearts of the audience,

And lifted the roof of the Borough Hall.
