A chance to take part in an exhilarating zip slide is on offer to Hartlepool people.
Macmillan Cancer Support is encouraging people to zip 1,000ft across the River Tees from the Transporter Bridge on Saturday, August 15.
Among those to have already signed up is Billingham man Ross Graham, who is backing Macmillan which supported his family after his mum Helen was diagnosed with malignant melanoma.
Helen lost her battle last June.
Ross pledged to raise awareness of how Macmillan helps people affected by cancer.
Liz Airey, Macmillan Cancer Support fundraising manager, said: “Ninety eight per cent of Macmillan’s income is from public donations.
Every day a staggering 42 people in the North East will hear the devastating news they have cancer.
This will see the North East population of people living with cancer nearly double between 2010 and 2030.”
The Zip Slide experience is organised by Extreme Sensations Bungee and Zip line Club.
All participants must be over 10 years old (accompanied by a parent/legal guardian) and in good health.
Anyone in doubt should contact their doctor before registering.
For more information, call 07801 307012 or e-mail email@example.com. To register, visit www.macmillan.org.uk/zipslide/.
The registration fee is £25 and there is a required sponsorship of £120.
