BRADLEY Saunders made a stunning return to the boxing ring with a fifth-round stoppage of Michael Kelly at Wembley.

The Hartlepool-trained fighter had the Irish warrior down in the first and proceeded to dominate the contest, with referee Bob Williams calling a halt 41 seconds into the penultimate round.

Saunders had been put for seven months after major hand surgery but showed no ill effects or ring rust as he controlled the light welterweight scrap from the opening bell.

In the main event at Wembley Arena, Dereck Chisora stopped American Malik Scott in six rounds though the away camp complained bitterly that it was premature.
