Savannah Marshall is back in form and back on the podium.
The Hartlepool boxer has reached the final of the Feliks Stamm Memorial tournament in Poland.
Marshall will tonight take on arch-rival Nouchka Fontijn for the gold medal in Warsaw.
It marks a welcome return to form for the 24-year-old who had been eliminated at the first hurdle in her previous two events – the World Championship and European Games.
But the Headland ABC star has regained the winning touch in style at the prestigious Feliks Stamm competition which features some of the best U75 kilo girls in the world.
She defeated Poland’s Lidia Fidura on a unanimous points decision, before winning her quarter-final against Valentina Khalzova, from Kazakhstan, by the same method. Marshall outpointed giant Swede Anna Laurell in yesterday’s semi to set up a final showdown with Fontijn.
The Dutch girl is 2-1 up in their head-to-head meetings, including the Euro Games, but Marshall has the chance for revenge tonight.
