SAVANNAH Marshall is guaranteed at least a bronze medal at the European Championships after storming into the semi-finals.
But her Headland ABC Coach Tim Coulter insists gold is the colour she could be wearing come Sunday night in the Netherlands.
Marshall beat Poland’s Lidia Fidura 13-6 in the quarter-final to set up a mouth-watering U75 kilo semi-final shoot-out with home hero Nouchka Fontijn.
The 20-year-old found the European Union champion a tough hurdle to clear last night but her class shone through in Rotterdam.
And Coulter says he sees “no reason” why Marshall can’t go all the way and lift the title after bouncing back from an early elimination from the EU Championship in Poland in June.
“When she got back EUs I was honest with her and told her I thought she had gone backwards,” Coulter told SportMail.
“We have been doing extra work when she’s been home on a weekend from [GB training] Sheffield and it seems to be paying off.
“We’ve not only put the time in at the gym and done some sparring, we’ve been running and swimming.
“I’ve noticed a difference and a few weeks ago I told her ‘you’ll come back from the Europeans with a gold’.
“It’s not going to be easy but I’m quite confident she can do it.”
