PETER Cope’s big title fight is off.
The unbeaten Hartlepool boxer was due to take on Geordie fighter Dougie Curran for the vacant Northern Area super-featherweight championship.
But Curran has pulled out tonight, citing a trapped nerve in his back.
Cope’s coach, and dad, Peter Jnr said: “It’s sickening. Everyone is absolutely gutted.”
Promoter Steve Wraith is looking for a new opponent though even he does, the NAT would not be on the line.
