HARTLEPOOL boxing has taken a turn for the better after a few years of uncertainty when you wondered where the next champion would come from.
Now this great boxing town has it’s very own hopeful to look out for and a home favourite ready to put Pools back on the map.
Peter Cope has started 2012 with the same high ambitions he had when turning professional just over a year ago.
And he is looking forward to a fifth professional outing on March 25 at Hartlepool’s Borough Hall, on the same day that Michael Hunter makes his comeback.
Cope said: “I want to make sure that I put myself in a position where I can fight for a title.”
SportMail visited the 20-year-old featherweight at the Gus Robinson gym to find out what his targets are after an exciting start to his professional career.
