The Headland fighter faced potentially her toughest test as a professional when she stepped into the ring against Alejandra Ayala at the York Hall in Bethnal Green tonight.

But the Hartlepool middleweight showed her class with a second round stoppage.

The Mexican couldn’t cope with Marshall’s power as the visiting fighter was stopped for the first time in her career.

It continues Marshall’s march to hopefully a world title shot, and was a repeat of her two-round demolition of Ester Konecna last month in Bolton.

The fight was shown live on TV, with Dave covering the Hayemaker Ringstar promotion.

Experienced Ayala is a 10-fight pro, who came into the bout with eight wins on her record, five inside the distance.

Marshall, however, showed she is no fearer of reputations and unleashed a barrage of heavy shots from the outset.

The referee finally stepped in to stop the contest after one minute, 58 seconds of round two to continue Marshall’s superb start to her professional career after becoming world champion as an amateur.
