Durham Jets rocked by another abandoned NatWest T20 Blast game

Durham Jets’ NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final hopes suffered another blow tonight as their match at Nottinghamshire Outlaws was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Durham pick up a point from the Trent Bridge call-off but face a big battle to secure a top-four finish in the North Division.

Heavy rain before the start of play at 6.30pm caused the problem, with the outfield left saturated despite the best efforts of the ground staff.

The final inspection took place at 8.15pm, but umpires decided that play was not possible.

Durham have won three of their nine matches, with abandonments on successive nights – following last night’s home game against Worcestershire Rapids being cut short when the visitors reached 103-5.
