CALLUM Roberts capped a memorable few days by firing Newcastle United into the next round of the Under-21 Premier League Cup.

The forward netted twice in tonight’s 2-1 extra-time win over Crewe Alexandra at Whitley Park.

The match-winning performance from North Shields-born Roberts, 17, followed a call into the first-team squad for the weekend’s Premier League game against Queens Park Rangers.
