FORMER Sunderland defender Carlos Cuellar is set to join Championship side Norwich City on a free transfer.
The Spaniard left the Stadium of Light at the end of last season after two years on Wearside.
And he has now opted to join recently-relegated Norwich as they look for an immediate return to the Premier League.
Cuellar is undergoing a medical at Carrow Road today, and is expected to complete his move imminently.
The 32-year-old joined Sunderland from Aston Villa in 2012 after he agreed to rejoin his former manager, Martin O’Neill.
After a decent first season at Sunderland, Cuellar fell down the pecking order last term, and also suffered with a hip injury.
He made just five first-team appearances last season.
