Hartlepool United signed the 21-year-old midfielder from Sunderland in March of this year but he has been unable to break into the Pools side on a regular basis.

Bale has made just one sub appearance this season.

New Pools boss Dave Challinor has now sanctioned a loan move.

A club statement added: “New boss Dave Challinor is keen for the youngster to get some regular football under his belt and he has now given the go-ahead to a temporary move to Northern Premier League outfit, Whitby.

“Bale trained with his new teammates on Thursday evening and will now be in contention to make a debut for The Seasiders when they travel to Scarborough Athletic on Saturday.

“The loan move will see Bale remain at The Turnbull Ground until after their New Year’s Day game at Morepeth Town.”
