Hartlepool United complete signing of former Chester and Port Vale striker Danny Elliott until end of the 2020-21 National League season

Hartlepool United have completed the permanent signing of former Chester striker Danny Elliott until the end of the 2020-21 season.

Elliott, 25, was released by National League North side Chester earlier this week with the club citing that the player is ‘taking the opportunity to play regular football for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign.’

He has now joined National League leaders Hartlepool on a short term deal as Dave Challinor’s side bid to earn promotion back to the Football League.

Elliott scored 17 goals in 46 games for Chester after arriving from Port Vale in 2019. The six-foot frontman also had a brief but successful spell on loan at Alfreton Town last season as he scored five goals in as many games.

Pools’ latest signing will wear the number 27 shirt and arrives at Victoria Park with Challinor looking to bolster his striking options with uncertainty over the future of Richie Bennett’s loan from Stockport County.
