Pools are unbeaten under Challinor so far with 13 goals scored in his opening four games in charge going into this weekend's second round clash at St. James’ Park.

United won 4-1 at Yeovil Town in the first round to set up the tie and picked up another big win at Chesterfield on Tuesday night

“The confidence should be high, we’ve enjoyed the win at Chesterfield but we’re back to work now,” said Challinor ahead of the match.

“Sunday is a massive opportunity for us because it’s our one guaranteed chance where we will pit our wits against a Football League team.

“I think most National League teams would hold their own in League Two when you consider the added commercial revenue from promotion.

“But there’s a big difference between holding your own and competing at the top and Exeter have competed at the top end for the last few years.

“It’s where we aspire to be and I aspire to take the club back there so we’re all looking forward to it. In the back of our minds we’re also very aware that there is potentially a big tie at the end of it if we can win.

“A third round draw could be special and we all know how massive they can be for clubs like us who could do with the financial boosts that come with it.”
