FORGOTTEN man Colin Larkin has returned to light training at Maiden Castle - but the striker has almost certainly played his last game for Hartlepool United, writes CRAIG HOPE.
The 29-year-old has not been seen since the 2-0 defeat at Scunthorpe United in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy back in August.
He underwent knee surgery in November, only to require a second operation when he returned to training earlier this year.
Larkin was back enjoying some light jogging with the Pools physios last week but he will not figure again this season.
And that will mean supporters have probably seen the last of the amiable Irishman in a blue-and-white shirt.
Larkin was handed a one-year contract extension by former manager Mick Wadsworth last May and started the back-to-back draws with Huddersfield Town and Stevenage in August.
But injury struck soon after and a cartilage problem was to rule him out until the New Year.
