COLIN Cooper looks set for talks with Tommy Miller over the Hartlepool United legend’s future.
The former Pools, Ipswich, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town and Bury midfielder is about to enter his thid week at Victoria Park.
Miller has featured in the last three pre-season matches - Bradford Park Avenue, Sunderland and Whitby.
Cooper told SportMail: “I spoke to Tommy on Friday and said to him we are here as long as you want.
“My advice to him was to play 45 minutes against Whitby Town in a more advanced position and in the first-half I thought he was smashing.
“There will be a point where he will need an answer, though.
“I know Tommy lives local and that he has Hartlepool roots but he might not feel it is the place for him.
“Come Tuesday he will have been with us two weeks.
“I have basically said you can train Monday and Tuesday and I can give you some more minutes against Middlesbrough, if that is what you want.
“If the opposite is you want an answer Monday or Tuesday then we will sit down and have a chat.”
Meanwhile, Cooper is also yet to make a decision on trialist Michael Woods, who tweaked his groin before the Sunderland defeat.
“You never know, whether it is against Middlesbrough, Bradford City next Saturday or Spennymoor Town next Monday, we might get chance to have a look at him.
“Other than that, the time kind of runs out and we need to try to get things in place.”
