FORMER Sunderland star Jordan Nobbs has signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

The England international, a prolific goalscoring midfielder, has committed her future to Arsenal Ladies.

Nobbs, daughter of Hartlepool United legend Keith Nobbs, joined Arsenal from Sunderland in 2010 and has since scored 20 goals in 46 league outings for the Gunners.

“I’m excited to have signed a new contract with Arsenal,” said Nobbs, who has 16 caps and three goals for her country.

“There’s a great feeling around the team heading into the 2015 season.

“We feel we can come back to challenging on all fronts this year and I’m looking forward to being a part of that.”

Arsenal ladies manager Pedro Martinez Losa said: “Jordan has developed into one of the most talented young players in the country since joining Arsenal in 2010.

“She has fantastic technical ability and a great character too.

“She has a great future in the game and I believe she will be one of the best players in the women’s game for a long time to come.

“We’re delighted she’s decided to commit her future to Arsenal.”
