Triallist Alan Tate will get another chance to build his fitness levels as Hartlepool United take on Willington in the Durham County Cup tonight.
John Hewitson and Ian McGuckin will once again lead the side as they look to make it through to the next round of the County Cup at Billingham Town's Bedford Terrace ground (KO 7.30pm).
It’s a team made up of a mix of youth and experience, with Adam Bartlett and Scott Fenwick among the professionals included in the starting line-up.
Ex-Swansea City centre back Tate has been training with Pools and will get another run out against the Northern League Division Two outfit.
Ronnie Moore, on the lookout for central defensive cover, has said he wants to see more of Tate before deciding whether to offer him a deal.
“We have to approach the game in a professional manner and make sure we put in the right kind of performance,” Hewitson told the club's website.
“It will be a tough game because Willington will want to build on their weekend win but we will be asking the players to set the tempo early on and try to control things.”
The game at Billingham Town’s Evolution Arena kicks-off at 7.30pm and admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
