Hartlepool United reserves are in action against Hebburn Town in the Durham County Challenge Cup tonight - with a number of first team players involved.
Pools host Hebburn Town at Victoria Park tonight (KO 7.30pm), first team coach Matthew Bates will lead the side against the Ebac Northern League Division Two outfit.
Luke George will get minutes after recently returning from injury while Scott Harrison and Jack Munns are also in from the start.
Youth team striker Connor Simpson, who came on against Tranmere Rovers last night, also starts.
Bates said: "There are a few of the lads who haven’t played for a while but are chomping at the bit to both get some fitness and also impress the manager.
"As well as giving them some game time, it’s also a great opportunity for the younger players to see where they are in terms of their development.
"It will be a good test for us because I would expect Hebburn to name a strong team because this is an important competition."
Youth Team players Jacob Own, Jon Weirs and Connor Simpson are also set for starts against the Ebac Northern League Division Two outfit.
Admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
