NEALE Cooper admits the Victoria Park hoodoo has been well and truly banished following the 4-0 thumping of Carlisle United.

The win makes it two from two on home soil and extends Pools’ unbeaten run to four matches under the new boss, elevating them to 10th in League One.

Pools had not scored from open play at the Vic in more than 12 hours when Cooper arrived, but now they have smashed six in the victories over Rochdale and the Cumbrians.

Saturday’s triumph – achieved courtesy of goals from Luke James (2), Antony Sweeney and Colin Nish – was the biggest home win since 2008 and left Cooper in buoyant mood when he spoke to SportMail today.

“Saturday was fantastic and it was a great end to a very good week on the training field,” said the Pools first-team coach.
