Hartlepool United romped to a 4-0 win over FC Halifax Town tonight.

Here’s how the players rated.

Scott Loach: Produced a couple of decent saves and almost scored from a long punt downfield. 6

Liam Donnelly: Switched to right-back and played well, including a coolly-taken spot-kick. 7

Louis Laing: Recalled and never put a foot wrong in both halves of the field, making one superb forward run while making a great last-ditch challenge on Denton. 7

Scott Harrison: Like Laing, happy to bring the ball out of defence with aplomb. 7

Nicky Deverdics: Got forward early doors and produced a delicious finish while he was unlucky to see a free-kick hit the post. 8

Nicky Featherstone: Returned to form in supreme fashion, making the side tick from his central role. 7

Michael Woods: One word for the midfielder, magnificent. Had a hand in three of the four home goals. Great energy. 9

Conor Newton: A fine return to the starting XI. Like Woods, he was full of energy and deserved his goal at the death. 7

Devante Rodney: Plenty of pace from the attacker on the right as he frightened the Shaymen. No end product but a step up in form. 7

Jake Cassidy: Got through some good work through the middle before being subbed late on. 6

Rhys Oates: Set the tone with a cracking tackle inside the first few seconds. Took his goal with aplomb and had a hand in Newton’s finale. 7

Tomi Adeloye (for Rodney 61): Looked good on his first appearance on the Vic and was unlucky not to mark it with a late goal. 7

Jack Munns (for Cassidy 80): Late cameo from the diminutive forward. N/A

Michael Ledger (for Deverdics 81): Got the last 10 minutes at right-back. N/A
