RONNIE Moore has explained why Jack Compton and Marvin Morgan were both missing from the squad that travelled to Morecambe.
Compton had started the previous match against Burton Albion, while on-loan Plymouth Argyle striker Morgan was on the bench.
I made the decision to go with a different shapePools boss Ronnie Moore
But the pair were both dropped from the squad that travelled to the Globe Arena.
Moore said he had been working on the 3-5-2 formation all week in the build-up to the match against Jim Bentley’s Morecambe and decided the pair didn’t fit into his plans.
He was remaining tight-lipped over whether they would return to the squad for tomorrow night’s trip to Oxford United in Sky Bet League Two.
When asked why the pair were left at home, Moore told SportMail: “I made the decision to go with a different shape.
“I don’t think it suits Jack playing in that shape.
“That was the reason.
“We have one or two back now and they were the ones left out.
“Let’s see what we do tomorrow [at Oxford United].”
Morgan has made four starts since joining on loan until the end of the season, scoring the winner against Northampton Town.
But he hasn’t made the starting line-up for the past four matches and Moore admitted he needed to see more from Morgan in the build-up to the Morecambe match.
Moore told SportMail: “He needs to produce what he is capable of doing.”
