HARTLEPOOL United boss Mick Wadsworth has today spoken of the “huge blow” as two of his strikers undergo knee surgery.
Colin Nish and Colin Larkin both require operations to mend cartilage problems and the pair could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Nish broke down in training on Friday and was immediately ruled out of the weekend FA Cup visit of Stevenage.
Larkin, meanwhile, suffered a setback in his recovery from a similar injury last week and he, too, will go under the knife today.
The Irishman hasn’t kicked a ball since the end of August.
