@RichMennearJP Excellent appointment. Fully committed as a player. Expect the same as a manager!

Jordan Richardson ‏@JRich97_

@RichMennearJP He was a grafter and a fighter as a player and if he can do the same as manager I’m sure he’ll keep us up! #TerraceTweets

Scott Parkinson ‏@ScottParko

@RichMennearJP I’m more impressed with Donachie, loved Murray as a player though, hopefully it works #terracetweets

Mark Carroll ‏@MARKCARROLL3

@RichMennearJP always came accross as no nonsense on & off the pitch,he needs support from fans & of course the boardroom to recruit players

Chris Thebe ‏@ChrisThebe

@RichMennearJP not happy at all, we need an experienced manager to get us out of this mess. What experience has he had? Hope I’m wrong.

Liam Reid ‏@ltreidy67

@RichMennearJP @HPoolMail Needed an experienced manager. All the best to Murray, but this seems to, unsurprisingly, be the cheap option.

@RichMennearJP @HPoolMail very surprised like everyone else, best of luck but we need players now...not next week#cheapoptionagain

On the Mail’s website, Gillens wrote: “Well Paul Murray would not have been my choice with no managerial experience but he has got the job so good luck to him. He states he is on the lookout for players and thats what Pools have needed for a long time. Other Managers have tried and failed so lets see what happens. Time will tell.”

Seaton added: “Pools have tried the inexperienced managers before, Scott, Barron (caretaker) Cooper now we are looking at another one. What type of player can he attract to Pools ?

“Ok I shouid give him a chance but we don’t have time, we need an experienced old hand.”

GraemeSW said: “Paul is a smashing bloke and a good servant to Pools but no experience in management You might as well leave Collins and Honour in charge!”

Meanwhile, on the Hartlepool Mail’s Facebook page, Mad Mick wrote: “Good luck Muzza.”
