Hartlepool United's youth team kick off their FA Youth Cup ambitions tonight as they host Fleetwood Town at Victoria Park.
The first round tie against Fleetwood kicks off at 7pm and John Hewitson says his players are looking forward to the challenge.
Pools have started the season well and currently lie fourth in their North East Youth Alliance League, just three points behind leaders Mansfield whom they held to a 2-2 draw at the weekend.
Fleetwood have enjoyed a similarly successful start to the campaign, they are fifth in the North West Youth Alliance League.
Hewitson told the club website: "If the fans can come in their numbers to support the lads it would be brilliant.
"It’s a chance for the young lads to showcase what they’re all about and a chance for the supporters to see the talent we have in our youth set-up.
"We’d all love it if there was a big crowd and noisy atmosphere – it would give the boys a huge lift.”
Nat Skidmore remains the only player unavailable to Hewitson for the game; the young midfielder is spending time at St George’s Park this week undergoing some specialised rehabilitation on his dislocated shoulder.
Admission prices for the tie are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
