THREE trialists will play for Hartlepool United reserves away to Burton Albion this afternoon.
Slovenian striker Danijel Jurisic, 25, Denis Mesic and Scouse midfielder Danny Ventre will all start in the Final Third Development League outing, which is the first reserves match in a month.
Ventre, 28, left Derry City in November last year after one season at the Brandywell club.
Midfielder Brad Walker and striker Scott Fenwick also start for Pools.
John Hewitson will take charge of the game which kicks off at St George’s Park at 1pm.
Hewitson said: “It’s a good chance for the lads on the fringe of the first team to press their claims.
“We’re pleased that the reserves games have kicked back in now because it’s important we have these regular games and a chance for the players to keep their match fitness and impress the manager.
“It’s also good for the lads to get the opportunity to play at St George’s Park so hopefully they can put in a strong performance and we can come away with a positive result to start the New Year.”
