Hartlepool United’s opening pre-season friendly at Billingham Town next Saturday will now kick-off at the earlier time of noon - to avoid a possible England World Cup quarter-final.

The decision was taken to alter the kick-off time as England could be in World Cup action later that day if they successfully make it past Colombia into the quarter-finals.

The game at Bedford Terrace will be Pools fans’ first chance to see the team in action this pre-season as preparations build ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

Meanwhile, tickets for the pre-season friendly with Sunderland, due to be played at Victoria Park on Saturday, July 14 (3pm Kick Off) are now on sale.

Tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (Over 60, Under 16 only) and can be purchased from the club ticket office, and will also be on sale on the day of the game from the turnstiles (subject to availability).

The Prostate Cancer UK Stand and Cyril Knowles Stand will be open for Pools fans for this fixture, with no reservations on Season Ticket Holders seats.

l Pools hit another sales milestone on Friday as long-term supporter Barry Brown snapped up the 2,000th Season Ticket for the 2018/19 campaign.

The Club’s Chief Executive Mark Maguire was in the ticket office to complete the sale himself and thank Barry for his continued support.
