DELIGHTED Mick Wadsworth today reflected on what he believes could be the most important 24 hours in the course of Hartlepool United’s close season.
On the back of Paul Murray signing a new contract at on Tuesday, yesterday saw Scott Flinders, Peter Hartley and Antony Sweeney all commit their future to the club.
There had been concern among supporters and indeed within Victoria Park that the latest trio to sign new deals could be the subject of interest from Championship sides.
But Pools have moved swiftly to alleviate those fears and Wadsworth admits that yesterday’s triple capture is another huge boost to a club which is already on a high following the arrival of Peruvian ace Nobby Solano.
“This was a very, very important day for us,” he told SportMail.
