HARTLEPOOL United fan Carl Stott is the lucky recipient of the 2,000th season ticket sold ahead of the new campaign.
Club officials say demand has remained high all week at Victoria Park with people queuing out of the ticket office doors all week to secure their season ticket for the upcoming Sky Bet League Two season.
On Wednesday afternoon delighted Carl, a chef from the Bishop Cuthbert area of town, came in to buy a ticket for both him and his friend, making him the 1,999th and 2000th ticket buyer.
After supporting the Club for some 24 years, loyal fan Carl was buying his 10th season ticket in a row.
Carl said: “I can’t wait.
“The World Cup has been getting us all ready and it is just the warm-up for the season. Two new signings is great and hopefully we’ll be able to get a few more so I’ve got my regular spot in the Town End of The Vic.
“We were a bit inconsistent last season, but I’m hoping for more of the successful runs that we had during spells last year.
“Play-offs would be nice but if we finish top of the league I won’t be complaining.
“In all honesty, I’m just looking for some good football and for something to cheer about.
“I think the fans appreciate the club’s season ticket offer, it’s a good price, probably the best in the league. Let’s just hope that next season we can be the best value in League One instead of League Two.”
The Early Bird deadline is Tuesday, July 8. The club ticket office will also be open from 9am to 1pm on Saturday, July 5.
Season tickets are priced at £180 for adults, £140 for seniors/students, £90 for Under-19 and £55 for Under-13 with the club’s early bird offer.
