HARTLEPOOL United have signed Huddersfield Town midfielder Matt Crooks on a one-month loan deal.
The versatile 20-year-old, who can play anywhere across midfield and in attack, was signed in time to make the squad for tonight’s trip to Accrington Stanley (KO 7.45pm).
Crooks, who has an eye for a goal, came through the ranks at his hometown club after a brief stint at Manchester United as a young teenager.
Although usually deployed in midfield or further forward, Crooks made his Terriers first team debut at centre-back on the opening day of the current campaign.
Previously, Crooks has gained senior experience with loan spells at non-league FC Halifax Town and Radcliffe Borough.
But Pools say he is now keen to get some more regular Football League action under his belt.
Crooks has been handed squad number 29 and is in the squad for the trip to Accrington in Sky Bet League Two.
