HARTLEPOOL United have announced pre-season friendlies in Yorkshire in July.

Pools will visit Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday, July 19, and Whitby Town the following Saturday. Both are 3pm kick-offs.

The Turnbull Ground has long been a favoured pre-season jaunt for Pools – fans may recall a debut Tim Sperrevik goal there after the Norwegian headed home in the 2000 friendly.

Pools’ visit to Bradford has come about after Colin Cooper’s inspired signing of Michael Duckworth from the Horsfall Stadium last summer.

BPA should provide a lively test after finishing 10th in Conference North last season.

Pools yesterday announced a home derby with Middlesbrough on Wednesday, July 30.
