Ronnie Moore today handed starts to Lewis Hawkins and Jordan Richards for the big FA Cup third round tie against Derby County at Victoria Park.
Midfielder Hawkins has just returned on loan from Spennymoor Town and goes straight in to face the high-flying Rams.
He looks set to play on the left of a front three with Rhys Oates and Scott Fenwick.
Richards missed the start of the season with back trouble but returned to fitness.
He comes in at right-back in the absence of Michael Duckworth (stomach) and Carl Magnay (groin).
Matthew Bates is ruled out with a toe injury so Scott Harrison comes in at centre-half to partner Adam Jackson at the heart of the defence.
Derby County boss Paul Clement made 10 changes from the side which lost 2-0 at Middlesbrough last Saturday.
One of them saw the debut of Hartlepool-born keeper Jonathan Mitchell.
The former High Tunstall College of Science pupil was making his first senior appearance.
Ex-Sunderland, Aston Villa and England striker Darren Bent was up front for the Rams.
