Ronnie Moore made three changes to his Hartlepool United side for the visit of League Two promotion-chashing Plymouth Argyle.
With skipper Carl Magnay ruled out with a groin problem and first-choice michael Duckworth out for up to a month, Moore opted to start with Scott Harrison at the back.
Moore reverted to a 4-3-3 formation so Connor Smith dropped down to the bench with Michael Woods startiong in a midfield threesome with Nicky Featherstone and Jake Gray.
Further up, Kal Naismith returned after missing the last three matches, with Rakish Bingham strepping down to the bench.
Keeper Luke McCormick returned to the starting XI for Plymouth who named ex-Pools skipper Peter Hartley at centre-back.
