IMPRESSED: Craig Hignett

HARTLEPOOL United have already discovered one diamond from Bradford Park Avenue – now they might be poised to unearth another.

Pools last night handed a trial to Jordan Deacey, a central midfielder from the Conference North side, the same team they signed Michael Duckworth from in the summer.

Duckworth has, of course, been one of the best players so far in a blue and white strip, and Deacey did his chances no harm whatsoever last night with a great goal and a bright display for the Reserves, who tore apart Scunthorpe 5-2.

Pools assistant boss Craig Hignett told SportMail: “We’ve been asked to have a little look at him, he comes from the same club as Michael Duckworth. He’ll be very pleased with what he did last night.

“Jordan has been out for a bit, with a broken arm I think, but has come back and played three games for Bradford and now he’s going to stay with us for a bit while we have a look at him.”
