COLIN Nish admits he’s still adjusting to life in League One – as well as the challenge of becoming a dad for the first time.
The 30-year-old’s partner gave birth to son Jaden on Monday.
That capped a week in which Nish had opened his goalscoring account for his new club and missed a penalty in the Carling Cup shootout against Sheffield United.
It’s been a hectic period for the former Hibernian man and he told SportMail he’s still coming to terms with life in his new surroundings – on and off the pitch.
“It’s all happening for me at the moment,” he said.
“I’m living in Durham, which is lovely, and I’ve got the new bairn so it’s a new start all round really.
“On the pitch I’m still adjusting and I’ll get better.
“The SPL and League One are pretty similar though so that should make it easier.
“I hadn’t played a lot last year for Hibs.
“I just want to enjoy my football again, I didn’t enjoy it at Hibs last season at all.
“The season before we got into Europe and it was good, but last season was a disaster for everyone involved in the club.”
