Another loss, but it wasn't really all that bad a performance by Pools, according to our man Liam Kennedy.

Here's his take on how each player rated in yesterday's defeat.

Pools XI (3-4-2-1)

Scott Loach - All in all a very quiet afternoon for the keeper, well, apart from picking the ball out the net... 6

Carl Magnay - Big responsibility passes to him if Davies should face a spell on sidelines. He's got broad enough shoulders to take it on, mind... 6

Andrew Davies - Injury looks like a real concern. Excellent before that. Almost netted twice from set-pieces... 7

Peter Kioso - A much improved game. Really grew into the responsibility in the centre. Athletic and a quick learner, looks like he will go far. May have been culpable for the goal.. 6

Kenton Richardson - Thrown back in the team and the pick of the bunch for Pools. Good going both ways... 7

Paddy McLaughlin - Did his best to drive the side on after Pools conceded. Got forward well but could not finish when two opportunities presented themselves... 7

Liam Noble - We all know it by now, the heartbeat of this team. Did not quite make things tick as well as usual... 6

Mark Kitching - Plays like a winger in this sytem. Always on option on the left... 6

Niko Muir - Some of his good work was a little too far away from goal, but that doesn't take away from another good performance with and without the ball. At home at this level... 6

Luke James - Pools' most likely threat in front of goal. Was a lot more advanced than in midweek. That first goal is coming... 7

Jake Cassidy - Ran tirelessly but with little reward. Can never fault his workrate. Little service all told... 6

Subs

Louis Laing (for Davies 55) - Fitted in with little fuss, until the goal, that is... 5

Marcus Dinanga (for Cassidy 66) - Added some pace to the frontline, little chance to show it... 5

Conor Newton (for Kioso 90) ...N/A
