JONATHAN Franks will be fit to face Carlisle United this weekend despite limping out of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Scunthorpe United.
A bad case of cramp forced the 22-year-old to withdraw in the second half, having earlier opened his account for his new club with a thunderous smash.
Boss Neale Cooper has revealed that Franks will be fine for Saturday’s northern derby against The Cumbrians, although he still wants to see more from the wideman.
“Jon just went off with cramp at the weekend,” he explained, “He needs to make sure he eats well and recovers because none of the other boys suffered from it.
“He’ll be fine though.”
And Cooper went on: “It was a great finish for his goal.
“He took it so well - that shot could have ended up on the moon and not the net the way we’ve been going!
“But it was a relief to see it go in and Jon did well to keep it down.
“He was self-critical of his overall game afterwards and that’s not a bad thing.
“But his delivery has to improve.
“He has to improve on the ball as well and needs to use it better.”
