Carl Magnay looks set to give Hartlepool United a Boxing Day boost by returning against Notts County.
The 26-year-old missed Saturday’s agonising 2-1 loss to Plymouth Argyle with a groin strain.
But the midfielder/ right-back has told Moore he is confident of returning for the crucial match with the Magpies this Saturday.
The stand-in skipper would probably come in Scott Harrison who had a fine game deputising for him in defence.
There is a concern over Matthew Bates who took the captain’s armband agaionst Plymouth. Bates had his Achilles trodden on by team-mate Nicky Featherstone and also suffered a sore toe.
