ON-LOAN Middlesbrough winger Ryan Brobbel is to stay at Hartlepool United for a further month after the two clubs agreed an extension.
The Hartlepool-born winger has spent the past four weeks at Pools, impressing with his pace, creativity and delivery from set-pieces including in the 2-0 victory over Shrewsbury Town.
Brobbel is currently on international duty with Northern Ireland’s U21 ahead of their UEFA European U21 Championship Qualifier against Serbia.
The in-form winger is set to play a part in tonight’s match at Shamrock Park, in Portadown.
Boss Colin Cooper confirmed to SportMail after the weekend win that a deal was in place to extend Brobbel’s loan and that was confirmed yesterday morning by the club.
The Pools manager is a big fan of the talented winger.
Speaking previously, Cooper told SportMail: “With the qualities that he has got, Ryan can stay as long as he wants.
“He gives everything and has that extra bit of quality that I like.”
A club statement said: “Ryan Brobbel has proved a big hit since joining the club on loan last month and has made seven appearances so, showing his talent on both the left and the right flank.”
After impressing in win over Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, Brobbel flew out to Belfast on Sunday morning to link-up with the Northern Ireland U21 for tonight’s game against Serbia.
The new loan deal will see him remain with Pools until after the game at Exeter City on Saturday, October 11.
