Scott Flinders: 7. Didn’t have a great deal to do but didn’t command his area too confidently. Smart block at the start of the second half and great save late on.

Michael Duckworth: 7. Enjoyed a couple of mazy runs in the first half and certainly burst forward more than at Portsmouth. Won his headers too. Defended well.

David Mirfin: 8. Another solid display from Mirfin on his home debut, threw himself at a Richards shot midway through the first half to keep the score goalless. Won everything.

Scott Harrison: 8. Solid enough at the back, didn’t have too much trouble with Marc Richards. Strong final 20 minutes.

Neil Austin: 6. Struggled at left-back. Kept slipping over and gave the ball away on a few occasions.

Jonathan Franks: 6. Back in the side and pushed on the right wing. Improved delivery from the corners but didn’t manage enough crosses in open play.

Michael Woods: 7. Tidy in possession, can certainly pick a pass but not as influential as he has been of late. Got on the ball more.

Aaron Tshibola: 7. Looked to get on the ball and keep it moving but didn’t have much help from the forwards first half. Saw plenty of the ball though.

Jack Compton: 9. MOM. Looked sharp on his return to the starting line-up. Had a point to prove after being dropped against Portsmouth and was the sharpest attacking threat Pools posed.

Marvin Morgan: 7. Not match fit and struggled his way through the first half. Partnership with Harewood looks like it needs plenty of work. Scored a good goal six minutes into restart to seal the win though.

Marlon Harewood: 7. Similar to Morgan, put himself about in the opening stages but failed to hold the ball up enough as the half wore on. Pools are lacking Bingham’s pace up front. Should have scored late on.

Subs: Nicky Featherstone: 6. Solid enough in the holding role when he came on. Cleared his lines.

Dan Jones: 6. Slotted into a three at the back. Did well to cling on to the clean sheet.

Connor Smith: N/A
