Pools set for trip to Billingham in pre-season friendly

Hartlepool United have confirmed that they will travel to Billingham Town in their first pre-season outing.

The Pools' traditional trip to Billingham will take place on Saturday, July 7 (kick-off 3pm).

In previous years, the fixture has given Pools' fans their first opportunity to watch new signings in action and cast their eye over any trialists.

This is the first fixture announced by the club, with several more expected to follow.

Matthew Bates has confirmed that he is looking for up to five pre-season fixtures before the National League campaign kicks-off in August.

Last season, Pools also faced Dunston UTS, Harrogate Town, Sunderland, St Johnstone, Middlesbrough U23s and Whitley Bay during their season build-up.
