Raj Singh's The Prestige Group have been announced as the sponsors of the Cyril Knowles Stand for 2018/19.

This is the second sponsorship deal announced this summer, with East Durham College branding the Mill House Stand, which will now be called the Neale Cooper Stand.

Confirming the commercial deal, a club statement read: "In the second major sponsorship deal of the summer, the club are delighted to announce the agreement of a deal with The Prestige Group to sponsor the Cyril Knowles Stand at Victoria Park.

"Prestige, owned by Pools Chairman Raj Singh, specialise in the Construction and Care Homes sector and are based in Ingleby Barwick.

"The Prestige Group invest in the care industry and developing homes and with 20 years’ experience base their principles on respect, dignity and quality; cornerstones which it is intended will underpin the operation of the football club over the coming years."

Singh bought Pools at the end of last season, committing more than £1.2million in cash to the club, in order to stave off the threat of administration and potential liquidation.

On the stand sponsorship deal, chief executive Mark Maguire said: "I'm thrilled that we have agreed another stand sponsorship and that we can help promote the Prestige brand at the stadium.

"Clearly the chairman has been instrumental in ensuring the club continues into its 110th year and this further commitment supports our commercial activity with a national brand who will demand commercial value for their sponsorship investment.

"We set ourselves a target of selling the major sponsorships available this summer and to sell a second stand sponsorship in a matter of days is a big statement of our commercial intent.

"There is an energy and sense of purpose around the club and if we can build commercially to match the unbelievable response of fans committing to season tickets then we really can start to drive this club in the right direction."
