HARTLEPOOL United have made four changes to their team for tonight’s FA Cup second round match with Blyth Spartans at Victoria Park.

The match - which is being screened live on BBC Two - sees Dan Jones come in at left-back, Michael Woods in midfield with Jonathan Franks and Sidney Schmeltz supporting Marlon Harewood up front.

Paul Murray has also named Jack Compton on the bench, the left winger has been out of action for a couple of months with a knee injury.

Pools are likely to line-up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Harewood spearheading the attack.

Midfielder Nicky Featherstone was warming up intensely with the Pools physio an hour before kick-off but starts alongside Brad Walker and Woods in central midfield.

Tonight is the 15th time the two sides have met in competitive action, with Pools winning just three of them.

The last meeting between the sides was back in November 1961 when Pools won 5-1.

A place in the third round and £27,000 in prize money is up for grabs.
