HARTLEPOOL United manager Colin Cooper has named the same starting XI for this afternoon’s Sky Bet League Two match at home to Newport County.

Last weekend Pools beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-0 away and Cooper has decided to stick with the same team.

Neil Austin again misses out with a toe injury, so Jordan Richards retains his place in the first team, alongside captain Sam Collins, on-loan Middlesbrough defender Christian Burgess and left-back Darren Holden.

Michael Duckworth, out for a month after a double hernia operation, returns to the squad and is named on the bench.

Marlon Harewood and top-scorer Luke James are again given the opportunity to continue their strike partnership, while Boro loanee Luke Williams again starts for Pools.

The club’s other loanee, Jack Barmby, is again named on a strong looking Pools bench.

Pools start the day 11th in League Two, while today’s opposition Newport are 8th, just a place outside of the play-offs but they currently have three games in hand.
