HARTLEPOOL United went global at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday thanks to Thunderbirds.
International Rescue’s presence at Plymouth ensured social media went crazy and put Pools on the map.
And Pools boss Colin Cooper said he loved the experience of hundreds of Poolies in fancy dress.
“I have been looking forward to this day ever since I took over,” he said.
“Having watched from afar the Smurfs and penguins, I couldn’t wait to see to see International Rescue for myself.
“For them to mo make the 775-mile round trip, support the team and enjoy themselves has been brilliant.
“I hope they have gone away pleased with the way the team has played.
“Even [Plymouth boss] John Sheridan said ‘your fans are amazing’.”
Twitter was awash with Thunderbirds pics all weekend.
But one which made Cooper laugh was from Bernadette Malcolmson who had dressed Cooper and four stars as members of International Rescue.
“The mock up of me at the front as a Thunderbird with Jack Compton, Sam Collins, Michael Duckworth and Brad Walker really made me giggle,” said the 47-year-old.
