Pools (4-3-3)

Scott Loach: There aren’t enough superlatives which do this fella justice, making five saves which were out of the top drawer. Man of the match. 9

Carl Magnay: Made some timely tackles and interceptions. Led the side well. 7

Michael Ledger: Had a tough time at the hands of Ferrier but fought hard, including a tremendous injury-time block. 6

Keith Watson: Overlooked last week as official MOM, it was perhaps fitting he got it this week. Went close to another goal, made one vital block at the other and defending magnificently. 8

Nicky Deverdics: Limped off late on but another super display at left-back and had an another assist. 7

Nicky Featherstone: A good ‘shield’ for the back four, his influence grew as the match progressed as he looked to play a series of passes to get the forwards away. 7

Michael Woods: After his terrific display the previous Saturday, he was again in lead-from-the-front mode, as he put himself about. 7

Lewis Hawkins: Ditto for his midfield comrade, who also clocked up the miles and made countless challenges. 7

Devante Rodney: Struggled to make an impact against a good side and, ironically, was forced off soon after getting the better of his marker for the first time. 5

Connor Simpson: Had one header which went over the bar but made one good defensive header from a corner. Came off after taking a knock. 6

Jonathan Franks: Just when Pools needed something dramatic, Franks was the man to deliver, with a sublime finish into the corner of the net. 7
