The Pools boss is hoping to add ‘a body or two’ to the squad over the coming days.

“We have a good idea in terms of the personnel,” Challinor said.

“What I’d like to be is adaptable while playing the same 11 players and the players we’ve got in have allowed us to do that even though injuries haven’t helped.

“The one thing we do lack and the one thing we’re looking at is that game changer who offers something different either starting or from the bench.

“It’s those players who can produce that moment of magic that wins us games, in fairness in the past couple of games we’ve seen players produce those sort of moments so we do have it.

“If I’m being critical, that’s one area where I’d like to bring some bodies in.”

While Challinor didn’t give much away in regard to the names of any potential targets, he did divulge into the type of deals he’d be looking to strike.

“They will be attacking players we’re bringing in, absolutely,” he added.

“When you see where we are with the injuries we have, you could say Luke Williams and Luke Molyneux are potentially that but they’ve been out for a long time and we’ve got to prepare without them so we have to see if we can replace or get someone similar that gives us different threats and different ways of playing.

“If we want to play with wide players we have to put Gime [Toure] or Luke [James] to one side and we want to get bodies in that will allow us to play with wide players but allow one or both of them to play centrally.

“At the moment it would just be a short term loan deal to see where we’re at.

“From our perspective, we’re quite heavy in numbers anyway and you don’t want a squad that just keeps getting bigger and the players ultimately lose the motivation to get into the team.”
