The teenager agreed a half season loan deal at Victoria Park in the summer but failed to appear once for Pools and was named on the bench just once by Dave Challinor in the 4-1 FA Cup win at Yeovil Town.

Due to a lack of first team involvement, Boro have opted to recall the youngster ahead of a potential loan move to the National League North.

After Ben Killip, Hartlepool don’t have another goalkeeping option available at the club with Brad Young and Ryan Catterick both out on loan in the Northern League though are available for a recall if required. Club legend Dimi Konstantopoulos is still training at the club and hasn't ruled out a potential return.

His compatriot Konstantinos Dabizas is also training at the club. The former Gateshead defender is the son of former Newcastle United defender Nikos Dabizas.
