Endued what was probably his worst performance in a Boro shirt. The central midfielder scored an own goal after just five minutes against Wednesday and lost possession ahead of the visitors third goal. He was subsequently subbed at half-time.

7. L: Helder Costa
With Pablo Hernandez out injured, the Wolves loanee was handed his first league start against Charlton but struggled at the Valley. Following the Addicks' 1-0 win, former Leeds player Noel Whelan was asked about Costa on BBC Radio Leeds and said: "Well look, the question is if he isn't good enough for the Premier League with Wolves, how is he going to be good enough for the Premier League with Leeds if we get there?"

8. L: Dael Fry
After all the hype linking him to Premier League clubs, Fry was at fault for at least two of Wednesday's goals. It should be remembered the 22-year-old has just come back from injury, yet this was steep learning curve for the central defender.
