Boro away again in Capital One Cup at Preston North End

ALL they wanted was a home draw.

But Middlesbrough’s ‘reward’ for an excellent 2-0 win at Gillingham on Tuesday night is another away tie in the Capital One Cup, at fellow npower Chammpionship side Preston North End.

It is now four years and nine matches since Boro had a League Cup fixture at the Riverside.

Preston reached round three by thrashing out-of-sorts Crystal Palace 4-1 at Deepdale while Muzzy Caryol and Cameron Park strikes took Tony Mowbray’s side to victory at Priestfield.
